April 30th, 2010“All over the world, and within different cultures, bonds with newborn babies develop through music, sound and movement. The reason for that is that babies are born with the capability to watch, listen and enjoy their mothers’ voice, face expressions and gestures.” says O. Zalel the author of Musical Baby Bonding Guide.

April 23rd, 2010Musical Baby Bonding is a program that guides parents through their own journey – bonding with their newborn babies. The program, created by Orly Zalel in 2005, includes joyful and practical 4-week courses. Through music and movement, within a calm environment, babies start to develop their communication with their parents who learn how to stimulate and support babies’ new responses. In the sessions (90 min) we sing miniatures baby songs, play special musical instruments and dance to various styles of music. The principles of Musical Baby Bonding will help every parent to find their own unique bond with their baby. We welcome mothers and babies aged 9-19 weeks.

Playing With Your Baby
January 14th, 2010“A baby’s brain is a work in progress, trillions of neutrons are waiting to be wired into a mind. You hold your newborn so his sky-blue eyes are just inches from the brightly patterned wallpaper. ZZZt: a neuron from his retina makes an electrical connection with one in his brain’s visual cortex. You gently touch his palm with a clothespin; he grasps it, drops it and you return it to him with soft words and a smile. Crackle: neurons from his hand strengthen their connection to those in his sensory-motor cortex. He cries in the night; you feed him, holding his gaze because nature has seen to it that the distance from a parent’s crooked elbow to his eyes exactly matches the distance at which a baby focuses. Zap: neurons in the brain’s amygdala send pulses of electricity through the circuits that control emotion. You hold him on your lap and talk… and neurons from his ears start hard-wiring connections to the auditory cortex…and you thought you were just playing with your kid” says the author of Your Child’s Brain.
